It's Gay Pride fortnight in London and I'm impressed to see that some of the biggest brands in the UK are sponsoring Pride in London 2017. It's the 50th anniversary of the legalisation of homosexuality in the UK, and a host of well-known brands are showing their support.
These include Barclays which will change its logo colours to rainbow, professional services firm PwC, French insurance giant Axa, as well as retailers Tesco and Starbucks - as well as many of our clients including Blued, the popular dating app - look out for them on the Underground from 3rd July!
Transport for London is 'gaying-up' 6 central London stations and West End bus stops with rainbow patterns.
Getting in on the pink pound might be arguably a cynical move for some brands but we say 'why-not'? Niche advertising is what we do as an agency and the gay market is generally more affluent, more up market and younger than average, it seems like a sensible move in anyone's book!
Enjoy the sunshine!
